Howdy gang ,Im new here and would like to add two cent. If Lucas was indeed in Japan in the early 70s he may have seen the animated tv show "Gatchaman".
Gatchaman was aired in 1972 in Japan but was re-edited and aired in the U.S. in the late 70s and early 80s as Battle of the Planets. The Gatchaman shaow has a verry Star Warsy feel to it with hundreds of green stormtrooper like minions of Galactor and in paticular the relationship between Burge Katse(a darth vader like subordanite) and The evil Galactor, With whom Berge Katde comunicated with via a view screen. Also the metalic hallways and lazer fights are evocativ e of Star Wars...keep in mind that this was all back in 1972. It is an awsome show and you can actualy buy it now on DVD. (i sound like a comercial). |Anyway this is a great site and please excuse the sp errors.
