First, I just wanted to say that this website is a really great place.
Lately, I have noticed how much LOTR-related material there has come on the site. I don't think the relationship between LOTR and Star Wars is all that great, to be honest.
And when it comes to the sagas, I feel Star Wars is closer to the norse sagas than LOTR (although not much)! The sagas are epic, LOTR is biblical.
I agree that Tolkien did try to incorporate the viking element into his books, but he definitely lacks the viking spirit and style.
